I learn to forgive

In those feelings of hate and anger
If I could find a way to avenge;
I would be the greatest victor in every tale of revenge
Alas I find neither greatness nor victory
When the battle turns bloody.
Blood thirsty as I was to wipe every breath out
To hound the hell out of the foe
To turn a human into a beast, that enmity in tow
but do I remain the beast ever,
once the rage flows out in fever?

Nay, what leaves me as stricken as my struck enemy
This act of vengeance, of animosity
If I had learnt to forgive;
Not to be deemed as divine
But to rise as a human, a being that can as much give;
For the erring we all are, when in sleep or wakefulness
When someone bears the brunt, somewhere the wrongfulness;
We the doers or we the done with;
Everything that goes in a circle;
What spite need I behold
When forgiveness can flourish a new becoming to unfold?
